Mckenna Gymnastics Craft: Make a Mat!

KarenMomofThree recently posted a craft on dolldiaries.com on how to make a doll balance beam. I tried it and it looks great! Karen's craft gave me a great idea on how to make a doll gymnastics mat. I was 'researching' Mckenna's things and I found out her gymnastics mat is reversible and it is not very thick.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • Sponges~ in whatever length and width you think you will need buy the amount of sponges
  • Duct Tape in one or two roll~ the reason why I say two is because if you want to make your mat reversible you can use a second color or pattern. the brand has crazy patterns so you can make a pink zebra print mat! LOL

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Line up sponges for desired length and width
2. connect all the sponges together using a thin piece of the duct tape color you plan on using for your mat
3. If your mat will be reversible use the color you want on one side to connect and the different color on the other side
4.  cover your sponges with the tape in long strips layering as you go covering the entire length and sides of the sponges
5. Do the same with the other side if your mat is reversible

voila your very own gymnastics mat to put under your very own DIY balance beam
